Kelvin Wan is a professional executive trainer. He has trained over 5,000 banking professionals in the last 10 years in the US, UK, Middle East and APAC regions on soft skills, methodologies and strategies. Recently, Kelvin has won Trainer of the Year and Distinguished Trainer Award on behalf of HSBC in the training and development competition organised by the Hong Kong Management Association.
He is an experienced banking project leader. He has been leading various types of banking projects e.g. credit card services and electronic purse. In 2007-2008, he took up the Global Project Manager role to roll out a multi-million USD learning project to 78 countries for the bank. In his current role—Global Project Management Curriculum Master Trainer—his main responsibilities are overseeing the project professionals upskilling, capability assessment and PM curriculum development for the company.
He is a practitioning-scholar. His recent research paper about Soft Competence for Project Managers has been accepted by a renowned US forum and published on major search engines.
Kelvin has been very enthusiastic in social services and next-generation development for years. Currently, he is the mentor of University of Hong Kong (HKU) Engineering Faculty MPhil graduates and City University of Hong Kong (CityU) MBA Candidates. He is also the volunteer Master Trainer for PMI HK, Volunteer of the Year PMI HK (2010) and VP (Certification), PMIHK (2011-13).
