Hiring and retaining the right people in Hong Kong has not got any easier for HR over the years. The costs of investing in the right talent continue to climb and according to the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong organisations face a 74% shortage, while AI skills demand is up—with over 2,000 job openings reported in the SCMP in March 2025. The pressure is on for C-suites and HR teams to act fast.
LinkedIn, never slow off the starting blocks in the HR world, has ramped up its Talent Solutions offering to help get HR ahead of the pack. LinkedIn now provides reach to over 3.2 million Hong Kong professionals, with one in three job-ready. Globally, the platform is facilitating eight hires a minute. In Hong Kong, 60% of the LinkedIn talent pool is aged 25 – 34, so for HR looking to target talent with the skills they need, the platform has been a Godsend. According to LinkedIn, 90% of Fortune 500 companies rely on the platform to gain high returns for effort and strategic success, as companies can land top talent without the need and expense of using third-party recruiters. Organisations also leverage employer branding, executive presence and personalised learning courses from the site. Recently, several Hong Kong employers shared how LinkedIn had been an essential part of their talent development plans.
