Nurturing professionals the way forward
The Hong Kong Government has made it clear—the future of Hong Kong is as a ‘Smart City’. What makes it so smart is that it nurtures professionals bringing people and technology together in a way that provides a happier, more productive living environment with smart living, a smart environment and smart mobility. Crucially, a ‘Smart City’ needs smart people who are engaged with cutting-edge developments so that new ideas are acted upon quickly. As an educational institution, IVE Engineering Discipline is determined to rise to this challenge, providing the skills and manpower that Hong Kong needs to achieve its dream.
As we all know, the best way to develop ideas is to share them and receive feedback. Acting on this, IVE Engineering Discipline is extremely proud to have been selected to host the 12th Annual International Symposium on Advances in Technology Education (ISATE) titled “Nurturing professionals for smart cities: way forward for technology in education” in September 2018. The event is world renowned and provides a platform for educators from international higher education institutions to share their knowledge and experiences in practice-based engineering and technology education. Attendees will come from all corners of the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Finland, Mexico, the USA and the UK. ISATE will particularly focus on:
- Innovative learning and teaching
- Technology-enhanced learning
- Multidisciplinary collaborations
- International connectivity
Information will be shared through a wide range of forums, including keynote speeches, workshops and sessions to give all attendees a chance to share their expertise and enhance the services of IVE Engineering Discipline and the state-of-the art training it provides.
ISATE will be hosted at the Hong Kong Science Park in Sha Tin and will run for four days, from the 18th to the 21st of September.
