BPP Education Group continues to establish their presence across APAC by commissioning their own research with over 1,500 HR professionals from a range of global businesses to predict which skills they anticipate will require intensive and further training over the next 10 years. This builds upon BPP’s longstanding international presence; producing learning materials used in 170 countries around the globe and welcoming students from over 100 countries to study their courses in the UK.
The research, focusing on both present and future skills, collected a total of 622 responses specifically from professionals working in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The study focuses on skills gaps for professionals in roles including Accountancy, Management, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Investment Management, Risk and Compliance and Sales and Relationship Management.
Data analytics key skill
The research reveals that accountancy professionals in APAC think that data analytics and emerging technology will be key skills and training priorities over the next ten years: applying robotics, AI and automation to the financial process, for example, was the third most important training priority for the next decade. Across almost all roles, data analytics is the skill that appears most frequently. From HR professionals to investment managers to risk and compliance professionals, data and analytics will be integral to almost every role in the future.
Identifying skills gaps, tailored training
The research cements BPP’s commitment to the region following the opening of its new offices in Singapore earlier this year. This permanent base is part of BPP’s long term growth strategy for the region, designed to meet the growing demands of corporates for training at every level. In addition, BPP supports firms with consultation processes which are designed to help employers assess capability needs and identify such skills gaps and provision of a full range of training solutions including qualifications within data, digital, finance, accountancy, law and management.
We look forward to developing these relationships further and doing what we do best—building careers through education
Vicky Knight, Associate Dean - International Programmes, BPP, who heads up the Singapore office, said, “The opening of this office underlines our approach to meeting commercial demand for training and development across the region. The engagement we have had demonstrates the depth of existing relationships we already have in Singapore. We look forward to developing these relationships further and doing what we do best—building careers through education.” As well as its established training solutions portfolio, BPP will also focus on supporting corporate clients with solutions that address the current and future skills in areas including data, digital and risk and compliance.
