Uber drivers say they are creating extraordinary wealth for the minicab company, but they have been denied basic workers' rights. Drivers in cities across the UK and US held protests, as well as boycotted using the Uber app.
Spokesman James Farra said, "Uber's flotation is shaping up to be an unprecedented international orgy of greed as investors cash in on one of the most abusive business models ever to emerge from Silicon Valley.”
Based in San Francisco, Uber aims to raise $9bn USD (almost £7bn GBP) in its initial public offering.
Drivers are at the heart of the Uber service—the company can't succeed without them—staff who work at the Uber Headquarters focus on making the experience better, on and off the road. Uber has agreed to continue working to improve the experience for and with drivers.
