As the benefits of flexible and hybrid working are increasingly embraced by companies and employees, Nestlé has just announced that they will provide their employees in China with access to 3,500 flexible workspaces from IWG.
The pandemic has had a dramatic impact on how we are all working. Companies are increasingly adopting a hybrid model, empowering their employees to work where is most convenient for them to promote a healthy work-life balance and boost productivity. Companies of all sizes see addressing the need for their people to commute to work as the single most significant contribution to reducing their carbon footprint. They understand that by bringing work into the home and into the heart of communities, they will immediately and significantly reduce the weight of traffic on roads and in cities across the world.
Increasingly, MNCs are deploying strategies aimed at improving employee satisfaction, such as having the option to work closer to home or where is most convenient for them, while all the same time maintaining their efficiency and productivity. The F&B giant, Nestlé, decided to partner with IWG to provide its team members with access to flexible workspace in recognition of the impact it has not only on their productivity but also on their work-life balance. The partnership is initially slated for China with the intention of later scaling it globally.
Natasha Zou, Head of Workplace Solution, Greater China, Nestlé, said, “The effects of COVID-19 have changed the way we work and flexibility is important for not only our business continuity but the productivity and wellbeing of our people. The partnership with IWG forms part of our flexible working concept, to create a better, healthier, more productive and sustainable working environment for Nestlé employees throughout China.”
Fatima Koning, Group Chief Sales Officer, IWG added, “Until now, organisations have been taking gradual steps towards hybrid working, but, now companies of all sizes are accelerating their approach towards the hybrid model. Nestlé is a prime example of a progressive company that is empowering its team to work where is most convenient to them, and their employees in China will have access to our network of flexible workspaces. This will help their teams achieve a better work-life balance by minimising their commute times as well as significantly reducing their carbon footprint”.
Earlier in 2021, IWG also announced a similar global partnership with Standard Chartered, enabling all 95,000 of their employees worldwide with the option of working in any of IWG’s 3,500 flexible workspace locations globally. Paul MacAndrew, Country Manager, IWG Hong Kong, noted, “Demand of flexible workspace has been increasing across the region since the pandemic, and this trend is undeniable in Hong Kong too.”
