To celebrate its Golden Jubilee, the Hong Kong Management Association established the 50th Anniversary Scholarship Scheme to promote the importance of lifelong learning and to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of management in Hong Kong.
Under the scheme, 55 full scholarships worth HK1.4 million have been offered to in-service executives aspiring to upgrade their qualifications and enhance their competitiveness. Study programmes include Professional Diplomas, the Diploma in Management Studies, and the Diploma in Business Management programmes jointly organised by the Association and Lingnan University. Over five hundred executives showed interest in the scheme, and in the light of the overwhelming response, the number of awards was expanded beyond the originally planned fifty. Dr The Hon David K P Li GBM GBS JP, Chairman of the Association officiated the Presentation Ceremony of the scholarships, hosted at the CYMA Charity Fund Management Development Centre in late November.
