Ever since the launch of the Racial Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Charter for Employers in August 2018, an increasing number of organisations have signed the Charter, which points to not only growing awareness of D&I, but also the commitment of businesses to this cause in general.
While reasons of social justice and regulatory pressures may spur many companies to endorse D&I goals, it ultimately has to be the strong compelling evidence of D&I’s positive business impact that will make this movement sustainable.
The Charter currently holds 106 signatories, including HR Magazine, and feature corporate heavyweights such as KPMG and Bank of China.
Ernst & Young, a multinational professional services firm, said, “Differences matter. Our strength lies in leveraging all aspects of differences in our workforce from diverse backgrounds to skill sets and styles.”
Jardine Aviation Services Group, a ground handling agent, said, “We serve airlines and passengers from across the world and believe that the composition of our team should be equally diverse.”
