New enhancements to Recruiter—LinkedIn’s talent solution software for recruitment professionals—include a ‘People You May Want to Hire’ function based on findings that 60% of professionals are open to job opportunities but not actively looking for them. Candidate suggestions are based on prior Recruiter activity including past searches, recent hires, company description and even the likelihood of that person being interested in a particular position. Unlike the standard versions of the widely adopted media platform, this corporate offering expands to give full profile access and allows contact through LinkedIn’s ‘InMail’ messaging environment. The algorithm gets smarter with increased usage and allows recruiters to focus their time and energy on engaging candidates, rather than looking for them in the first place.
Below this feature is an area focused on related activities, such as which jobs have received recent applications and which projects still require more talent leads. Such modifications have been introduced to maximise efficiency of the sourcing process.
A new LinkedIn Recruiter homepage has been created to present the new functionality. The redesign prioritises the features used most in an attempt to boost productivity of daily recruiting tasks. It now more closely resembles LinkedIn.com in both look and feel in order to make the user experience more intuitive and simplistic. The design changes are based on the concept of consumerisation, that is putting the users’ priorities first, so that the software appears as a consumer app at the front end, but has the power and feature-rich functionality of an enterprise tool in the background. LinkedIn Talent Solutions’ Head of Product, Parker Barrile, noted, “Fortunately, the consumerisation of the enterprise has begun to infiltrate the recruiting industry and is influencing a new generation of products.”
One of the key redesigned components is the new navigation bar. The ‘Notifications’ feature, accessible via the flag icon located at the top right hand corner of the homepage, alerts the recruiter to urgent items, such as new applicants, hiring manager reviews and bulk resume uploads to make it easier to identify and prioritize important action items.
A ‘Smart-To-Do List’ helps improve workflow efficiency by allowing the creation of to-do items that connect with a profile, project or job simply by inputting the ‘@’ symbol. Any unchecked to-dos will remain at the top of the list until completed.
The redesigned Recruiter homepage will be rolling out to English-speaking customers this month and non-English speaking customers over the next few months.
