The British Safety Council (BSC), which James Tye founded in 1957, recognises outstanding contributions to safety through its International Safety Awards.
This year, the BSC praised Syed Rizvi of Sindh Engro Coal Mining, winner of the CEO award, for leadership and strategic vision. The Covid-19 Crisis Team of the Road and Transport Authority is Team of The Year, for outstanding collaborative achievements. And cheers to Heineken for the iconic James Tye award.
Global sections such as Health and Safety Transformation, and Crisis Response saw deserving winners. Notable sectoral and geographic recipients included China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong), champions in Hong Kong, China State Construction Engineering Construction, joint winners in Mainland China, and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council in Local Government and Public Services.
The vision is that every worker goes home at the end of the day as healthy as when they went to work.
