The world’s largest organisation of women board directors, the WCD Foundation, met in Atlanta recently to discuss issues relating to their business in Latin America. The non-for-profit organisation has more than 3,500 women directors worldwide with 70 chapters in more than 35 countries.
Speaking about the event, Susan Stautberg, Chairman and CEO, WCD Foundation stated, “From managing investor-board dynamics to understanding and mitigating cybersecurity risk to navigating the particular needs of private and family-run companies, our Institute programme tackles key governance and strategic questions for boards either operating or thinking about operating in the Americas.”
Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO, The Coca-Cola Company, who spoke at the Institute, said, “Women represent one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing economic forces in the world today. As such, it’s critical that the composition of talent and leadership inside companies like ours more closely reflects the composition of the opportunity outside. This is just one reason why we’re so proud to host the Americas Institute and help provide a forum for talented women leaders to gather and compare notes on the challenges facing organisations in our fast-changing world.”
