Herbal tea specialist Hung Fook Tong Group has announced that from August, it will pilot a hybrid work model which will enable its office staff to work from home once a week. At the same time, the company will also extend its existing flexible working hours arrangement and introduce more family-friendly measures aimed at improving employees’ well-being.
The hybrid work model “adapts to the new normal” according to the company’s statement and will benefit both the Group and its employees. The pilot will be effective from August, during which office staff will have the option to work remotely once a week and will be reviewed by the Group on a continual basis.
Meanwhile, other existing family-friendly policies will remain in effect and will be continuously improved. Office staff will continue to enjoy “Relax Friday”, meaning they can end work earlier each Friday. In addition, the existing flexible working hours will be extended to provide employees with greater freedom to choose when to start work so that they can spend quality time with their families or pursue further studies.
Several measures will be enhanced or introduced over the summer including “Summer Vacation at [the] Office” programme. For this programme, employees can take their children to work whenever they like making it easier for parents to take care of their children during the summer holiday with some select days having dedicated craft workshops for kids to enjoy. In addition, and in a Group first, the “PAWsome Pet-friendly Day” will welcome office employees’ furry friends to the workplace.
Dr. Ricky Szeto, CEO and Executive Director, Hung Fook Tong commented, “Employees are our greatest asset. To improve their well-being, the company has closely been monitoring market trends and regularly reviewing HR policies to formulate suitable and feasible strategies. We believe the latest arrangements will address the needs of our employees resulting in improved work efficiency and a win-win situation.”
