Recently there has been increased interest from fresh graduates in taking careers in the hospitality industry. A total of 16 students from The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology conducted the first of several student visits to the Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees hotel, located near the former Kai Tak Airport, on 7 November 2009 to learn first hand about service in the hospitality industry. The morning’s event started with a site tour of the hotel followed by training from the hotels’ Human Resource, Information Technology, Sales & Marketing and Financial departments.
