To echo the US ADHD Awareness Month held annually in October, Let’s Talk ADHD and Hong Kong Let’s Talk ADHD Association are going to host the Hong Kong ADHD Awareness Week 2022 between 23 and 29 October. Through a series of webinars by professionals and ADHDers, Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of ADHD among professionals, ADHDers, their supporters, and community members, eventually leading to greater acceptance and provision of support for ADHDers in different life arenas.
This year, Awareness Week will feature the following speakers on ADHD in the workplace :
- Loic Andre (OJ Ability) on tips for ADHDers on job search and developing skills and attributes for gainful career opportunities
- Tania Martin (UK’s EY Neuro-Diverse Centre of Excellence) on EY’s initiatives to tap into neurodiverse talents and utilizing ADHD strengths to be a leader
- Aaron Chan (DLP Piper) on ADHD and disability discrmination
- Leanne Maskell ( UK ADHD coach and legal activist) on challenges facing employers and ADHD employees in the workplace. Leanne’s clients include Microsoft and Lewis Silkin.
Other speakers for the Awareness Week include:
- Professor Roger Ho (The National University of Singapore) on the latest diagnostic criteria developments for ADHD in Singapore and Japan
- Dr. Paul Constable (Australia’s Flinders University) on detecting ADHD through eye retina
- Jessica Tan (Independent health policy researcher) on mental health policies supporting ADHDers in Hong Kong
