Are the Hong Kong HR professionals responsible for succession planning getting it wrong 10% of the time?
HR in Hong Kong are still failing to cultivate a culture of gender equality. Forty percent of Hong Kong employees believe women make less money than men in similar roles—only 37% of employees in Malaysia believe the same.
The results of the Randstad Workmonitor Wave 1 2013, in which 400 Hong Kong employees participated, suggest that discrimination is still prevalent among Hong Kong organisations. HR can see from the report that, over 70% of the time, employees say that there are more male than female managers—but only 63% feel that men are better suited to lead a company.
