Wouldn’t it be great if our retired sports equipment, instead of ending up in Hong Kong’s landfills, could help trigger the sports passion of many less privileged children around the world? Here is your opportunity to do just that. For the 3rd consecutive year, HKBN is supporting a 100% student-led project to help the needy children around the world via the power of sports.
You can support the annual ‘Sharing for a Cause’ programme by donating your retired sports items, be they racquets, shoes, balls etc. There are 33 locations across Hong Kong, including five HKBN shops, serving as collection points for this programme. The sports items collected will be sent to Crossroads for distribution to the needy children in Hong Kong, China and abroad.
Eros Wong from the administration department of HKBN commented, “We support Kids4Kids for how they nurture bids to be the better socially aware leaders of tomorrow. This annual collection drive, managed by local Hong Kong high school students aged 14 - 17, is a great example of developing our Hong Kong leaders of tomorrow.”
Agnes Chan, a Year 12 student at Chinese International School and the project leader of this year’s team of dedicated Kids4Kids Advocates in charge of ‘Sharing for a Cause’ 2013, stated her belief that, “By involving more people in this city-wide campaign we can demonstrate not only the power of youths to make a difference in society, but also the idea that the donation of just one good can impact the lives of many less fortunate people.”
The drive is currently is progress and will continue until Friday 15 March, 3pm. Be sure to get your donations in before that date to help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children.
