Over 100 HR managers attended The Business Impact of New Talent Acquisition 2010 Symposium and Award ceremony, jointly-organised by StepStone Solutions and HKGCC on 11 June. Top executives from StepStone Solutions, Hospital Authority, Philips Consumer Lifestyle and CSL shared insights about new talent acquisition and management. In the award ceremony China Constructions Bank (CCB), Richemont and PWC were named best performing online recruiters in Hong Kong for their efforts in attracting new talents with online recruitment strategies.
“Winning talent is all about maintaining great candidate relations. It is encouraging to see so many HR managers are striving to understand candidates’ job-seeking behaviour and keep engaging these New Talents by adopting the best available technology,” said Erik Schmit, Managing Director APAC, StepStones Solutions.
Representatives of the three head-to-head winners expressed their appreciation for the award and the importance of optimising online recruitment as an extension of employer branding strategies. Grace Lee, Head of HR, CCB Asia Corporation Ltd. received the award on behalf of the bank, which was identified by graduate evaluators as one of the top three performers in online recruitment. The research commissioned by StepStone Solutions was conducted by Universum and evaluators selected CCB for their “provision of abundant career information, the exhibition of corporate culture and passion of their people.”
The other two awardees, PWC and Richemont, were recognised in particular for the availability of various jobseeker friendly functions such as job-search tools and online application options. With a built-in social-media network, PWC’s career webpage was recognised as one of the most professionally designed and well-structured career webpages. While Richemont’s career webpage won praise for its elegant, user-friendly page design.
Recognising HR managers who devote efforts to facilitating business growth in their companies, the awards bear testament to the much more strategic role that HR now plays within organisations, as it moves away from traditional operational and administrative functions.
