On the last day of Women’s History Month, Great Place to Work has announced the names of companies that have been selected as the ‘Best Workplaces for Women in Greater China 2022’. An anonymous survey was conducted across the Greater China region and to be included, organisations had to have a workforce that was at least 30% female as well as 20% in leadership positions. This year, 22 companies based in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan made it onto the list.
The survey also brought to light several noteworthy findings of the Best Workplaces. Amongst those top employers, 87% of their female employees felt involved in decisions that affect their jobs or work environment to grow and develop compared to 72% in other workplaces. Additionally, 85% stated that they were paid fairly for the work that they do. Furthermore, 94% of female respondents stated they were able to take time off from work when necessary whilst 86% stated their employer provided them with special or unique benefits.
The Best Workplaces is an accreditation standard which recognises employers that provide an outstanding work environment to all employees whilst simultaneously creating positive and supportive workplaces for women, particularly in regard to their development and ensuring they have opportunities to contribute to the success of the business.
