The Workplace Smart Cleanliness study conducted by SoftBank Robotics and Milieu Insight has shed light on how employees feel about their workplace cleanliness. Indoor air quality, cleaning frequency and virus transmission risks were reported as the key concerns amongst the workforce.
The study found that 84% of workers cited cleanliness at the office as important for them to be able to work effectively whilst three-quarters thought that the most ideal cleaning arrangement was a combination of human and robot cleaners. 74% of employees were also seeking greater transparency on office cleanliness statistics, especially in air quality, cleaning frequency and virus transmission risk.
The study, conducted at a time when Singapore moves to have 75% of workers in the office, also revealed that 85% are very or somewhat open to having robot cleaners in their offices with their duties ranging from vacuuming to air purification to disinfecting surfaces. There has been a rise in autonomous cleaning solutions appearing on the market since the start of the pandemic and deploying autonomous solutions is one way to impact the bottom line.
