8 in 10 staff cry at work
Research shows that over 80% of staff have cried at work at least once, with 5% admitting to crying there every day. The study, which had more than 2000 participants, found that the biggest cause of workplace tears was treatment by a boss or colleague (45%), far higher than any other trigger.
The factors causing workers to cry were:
- Boss/colleague - 45%
- Personal matter – 19%
- Workload – 16%
- Being bullied – 13%
- A client – 4%
- Personal error – 3%
