A dedicated Work from Home (WFH) Insurance was launched on 14 July 2020 by Chubb to help HR address dramatically changed office environments due to COVID-19. As businesses go through this period of rapid adaptation, WFH is expected to remain a normal feature of working life. Subsequently, a WFH insurance has been tailored to enable employers to better care for the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees whilst they work remotely. The insurance covers four key emerging risks:
- Mental health payments - for the psychological counselling of employees diagnosed with stress disorders due to working from home.
- Ergonomic injury and prevention benefits - for postural injuries/strains resulting from inconsistent workstation setups.
- Accidental death and permanent disability payments - for slips and falls within the home from hazards such as stairs and unkept toys.
- Coverage for employees who are injured while taking their work outside or on the move.
