Ezrin is the Group Head of People Strategy, Performance Management & Talent Management for the AirAsia Group. His main role is to drive Regionalisation to make the AirAsia Group a true Regional company. Part of this endeavour includes: acquiring top talent, ensuring similar policies and practices in managing people and cultivating culture, managing performance, managing talent, and developing simple, efficient-yet-effective group-wide processes for the AirAsia Group.
Ezrin is a civil engineer by training, which also became part of his early career. He then slipped into oil-and-gas; and then went in to a landslide of various digressions: quality, organisational development, communications, and now People. In Malaysia, he has previously worked with DiGi Telecommunications, PETRONAS and Weatherford International; and in the UK – Ezrin was employed with Mouchel Parkman PLC and the London Borough of Barnet. Ezrin graduated from the University of London – University College London (UCL). Outside work he enjoys spirituality, travelling, the arts and writing novels and short stories. He is also a multi-instrumentalist – and has written songs, and musical scores: whilst avidly being involved in performing and recording. Occasionally, he visits rural school children to motivate them in their pursuit of excellence and success. A key element of Ezrin’s passion is his keenness in understanding how things work – especially the minds of people, and arranging what seems to be a buffet of confusing elements, into a rationale array of thought.
Since July 2013, he is the acting Head of Leadership and Management Development at the Asia Aviation Centre of Excellence (AACE), formerly the AirAsia Academy.
