Ka Shi Lau is Managing Director & CEO of BCT Group (comprising BCT Financial Limited and Bank Consortium Trust Co. Ltd.), a major provider of retirement plans and pension / fund services, and a leading third party service provider to pension plans and global investment funds in Hong Kong. Graduated from Cornell University, USA, with an MBA, Ms Lau possesses extensive banking and finance experience in both Hong Kong and New York City in investment banking; project finance; global investment, trust and custody services; risk management and compliance; banking and securities operations.
Apart from her current role as Chairman of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association, she also serves on statutory / advisory and professional bodies including the MPFA; SFC; Hospital Authority; Minimum Wage Commission; Social Security and Retirement Protection Task Force, Commission on Poverty; Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association and Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD). She is also an Investment Promotion Ambassador of InvestHK.
The first woman to receive a Director of the Year Award in the “Private Companies, Executive Director” category from HKIoD, Ms Lau was named “Professional of the Year” in the Women of Influence Awards 2010 jointly organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and South China Morning Post. Other awards include the “Most Extraordinary Women in Finance 2009” by BENCHMARK magazine and consultancy HBC Limited as well as “Responsible Business Leader” in the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards 2009 by Enterprise Asia.
