Business leaders worldwide are focused on adapting and maximising their own performance against a background of slower growth. For Asia’s companies, this specifically means harnessing human and technological potential to move up the global value chain.
According to the Conference Board CEO Challenge 2014 report, the top challenges across Asia converged around questions of internal strength—better products, smarter workers, stronger customer appeal and collaboration.
Globally, three of the top five strategies for innovation are also predicated on human capital. HR therefore needs to work to create a culture of innovation by promoting and rewarding entrepreneurship and risk-taking, develop innovation skills for all employees, and incentivise key talent for innovation.
