Bella Chhoa joined Hang Lung Properties Limited as Assistant Director — Corporate Affairs in August 2011, where she oversees human resources, legal and company secretarial matters of the group. She is also the Chairperson of Hang Lung’s Sustainability Steering Committee. Given the spectrum of her responsibilities, she strategizes human capital management of the group with an open, fair, analytical mindset.
The workforce of the Group has increased from 2,000 to nearly 5,000 since her joining the Group in 2011. One of the key challenges she faces is to establish a talent recognition and development system in mainland China which could motivate people. To this end, she has implemented various initiatives including in-depth review of human resources trend and development of each individual city which the group has operations and make alignments and adjustments across the board taking into consideration the practicalities and situations in mainland China. She has revamped the learning and development strategy of the Group through structured design programs to cater for needs of staff of all levels, not just to build a pipeline of talents, but also to build a culture of continuous improvement.
Bella is a solicitor qualified to practice in Hong Kong. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor degree in Law from The University of Hong Kong.
